Trail Work Party, 5/12/12! 05/10/2012
Help complete the Grand Forest North loop and support mountain biking on the island! The Bainbridge Island Gear Grinders is hosting a trail work party in conjunction with Bainbridge Island Metro Parks and Recreation District this Saturday (May 12th) from 10 am to 2 pm. Wear work clothes and bring gloves, water and snack. Hand tools will be provided by the park district. Enter at the corner of Koura @ Miller: park on Koura. Minimum two hours of commitment requested. The Gear Grinders, who are our local high school mountain bike team, have a trail work party this Saturday in the Grand Forest, and they are looking for volunteers to help out: I hope you can join us for 4 hours of productive trail work at the Grand Forest North property. We'll work on cleaning up - trimming, moving logs, leaves etc - from the new bypass routes that have been created by the BI parks crew this week. Where: Grand Forest North Park: on Koura @ Miller When: 10am - 2pm 1/28 Bring: Snack, water, clothes to get dirty, work gloves, your favorite handtools (no power tools) The parks crew will also have shears, rakes, shovels etc. to use. Attention mountain bikers! A new mountain bike group on the island - The Gear Grinders - wants your help to reopen a loop trail in the Grand Forest. This Saturday, December 17 from 10 am to 2 pm. Bring hand tools, such as rakes, matlocks, shovels, pruners, clippers, work gloves, water and lunch. Meet at the corner of Koura and Miller at 9:45 am.
