We received this email from Simon Vila, a campaign worker for Jay Inslee, who is an avid bike rider and has been a long-term supporter of cycling in his political career.

I hope this finds you well!  I am writing to follow up on your chat with Jay.  He asked me to send along the information for the  bike ride that Ron Sher and others are hosting for Jay in Seattle next Sunday, May 20.  We’ll be getting together around 11:30 at Third Place Books and we hope you will join us!

I have attached the formal invitation with all of the event details to this email. We hope you will consider contributing at the Co-host level ($1000). Anyone who gives/raises at the host level will get a Bike Jersey (pics below) We only made 15 of these Jerseys!

You can contribute online at http://www.jayinslee.com/bikeride, send a check made out to “Jay Inslee for Washington” to PO Box 21067, Seattle, WA  98111, or you are welcome to pay at the door of the event.

Please let me know if you are able to attend, and feel free to contact me with any questions.  Thank you for your continued support!  I hope to hear from you soon.

Simon Vila

We were recently informed about a new website for finding local rides, organized by the Cascade Bicycle Club.  Check it out!

After the Chilly Hilly ride was over, we received this very nice thank-you note:
We always appreciate these sorts of kudos, and knowing that we made a difference for someone.  Thanks, Austin, you rock too!

Despite nasty weather forecasts, the weather cooperated this year, and we had mostly sunny (if cold) skies for the ride!  Our guess at attendance this year is around 4500 or so riders, and we certainly had a busy day.  We always provide free labor for on-the-spot fixes for Chilly Hilly, and this year was no exception.  From broken spokes and frozen derailleurs to simple flats, we saw our share of problems, but everyone seemed to have finished the ride with little issue.  No major mechanicals!
The Volagi demos were popular, and we'll hope to do more such test-ride events in the future!  If you are still interested in trying one of the bikes out, we'll have them until March 7th.  Email us to be sure of availability.

We just received our demo fleet from Volagi, which we will have for Chilly Hilly!  Five bikes in all sizes are available for test rides.  If you haven't ridden one yet, now is your chance.  Disc brake, carbon fiber road bikes!
We also got hold of one of Volagi's prototype hydraulic disc brake bikes, with the TRP brakes, Shimano Di2, and carbon rims.  Here are some teaser photos - come by and take a look!

Susan from Volagi Cycles will be here at the shop for the entire weekend of Chilly Hilly (February 24th-26th) with a fleet of bikes to test ride!  She'll be bringing every size of the Volagi Liscio with her, so everyone will have the opportunity to try one out!  If you are interested, call or come on by to reserve some time on one of the bikes.

We will be at the Seattle Bike Expo, March 10-11th, in booth 503 with Volagi Cycles!  Please drop by and see us there!
