Veteran Commuter Seven 11/18/2011
This steel commuter Seven has seen over 25,169 miles in the almost nine years since it first rolled out of our doors. In fact, since the computer wasn't installed until after her first year of riding, it has probably seen a couple of thousand more. This bike is an early example of the many fender-clad, disc-brake road bikes we have put together for our commuting customers over the years! It's always great to see the bikes we remember building up, and we always peek at the cyclometers to get an idea of how much enjoyment people are getting out of them! Thanks to Denise for letting us post photos of her trusty bike! Rohloff Hub Commuter Sevens 11/14/2011
Here are some photos of two recent custom commuter bikes we put together - both built with Seven frames, Rohloff 14 speed internally geared hubs, generator hubs to power the lights, hydraulic disc brakes, 29 inch wheels, etc. Despite the similarities, each is a very unique bike, tailored to the specific needs of the customer: one of them is a titanium frame with a rigid carbon fork, and the other has a steel frame with a suspension fork. The geometry and handling of each has been designed for the measurements and preferences of their respective owners. We have done lots of similar setups in the past, and look forward to building more of these 'ultimate commuter bikes' in the future! Thanks to Jacques and Paul for letting us feature some photos of their bikes on the blog! |
